It's here!
My Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin Sock Club shipment arrived yesterday - figures it would get here on my first day back to work. Here's what we got..... I was able to finish my pomatomus socks. I used STR Fire on the Mountain. They are soooo soft and cushy.

Even dragons couldn't stop me
I was so wrong in thinking that I would be able to spend a lot of time knitting while I recovered from surgery - I have only been sleeping and waiting for my first installment of the Rockin Sock Club to arrive. It must be the medication that has lowered my resistance to new purchases. Right now I am waiting for three packages of sock yarn to arrive....
- First installment of the STR Rockin Sock Club
- Some Vesper that I ordered last week in Astro and Love Stinks (I blame this order on pre-surgical nervousness)
- Finally, some more Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock in Little Bunny Foo Foo and Lucy for socks, a random stripe tube sock kit (I went with #3), and then some Watermelon Tourmaline and Lemongrass and Chapman Springs to make the chevron scarf from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" (I couldn't decide between the Lemongrass and Chapman Springs).
Now I just need to get back to work so that I can pay for all of it!

I'm trying really hard...
to be good and not purchase any sock yarn until after I have completed at least one pair of socks that I currently have on the needles, and if I finish one of the pairs, I will then have a empty set of needles on which to cast on the first installment of the STR 2007 Rockin Sock Club yarn (can't wait for it to arrive). Speaking of the Club, I am so looking forward to receiving it - can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!

Time flies...
I can't believe that it's been nearly a full year since my last post. Things sure have changed here at Casa Purlshmurl (including the casa). Since my last posting I have (in no particular order:
- I bought and moved into a new condo - I am now a fully, fledged adult with a mortgage and everything
- started and completed a few smaller projects (a fake-isle hat, another odessa hat, a so-called scarf, a one-skein wonder shrug for my goddaughter, a cabled hat of my own design, and a diagonal stripe purse
- made little progress on some larger knitting projects (my birch shawl, my boatneck sweater in Katia Jamaica)
- knit a few socks. Notice I didn't mention anything about pairs. Second sock syndrome is alive and well.
- became afflicted with a new addiction - Socks that Rock. I cannot wait until the first shipment of the 2007 Rockin Sock Club arrives.
Here are some of the things that I am currently working on (that need to be finished ASAP as they were destined to be gifts).
Grumperina's Jaywalkers in Knitterly Things Vesper sock yarn in Midnight Knitter
Pomatomus socks in Socks that Rock "Fire on the Mountain"
Rock and Weave socks in Socks that Rock "Farmhouse"
the baby boy jumper in the Sandnes Mandarin Petit 0506 book for my new little cousin who is already a month old...sheesh, I better get cracking on that one
